Matt Cardona has been on a major losing streak since returning to WWE.

Matt Cardona (FKA Zack Ryder) returned to WWE in January and registered a victory against Kit Wilson.

However, after this bout, Cardona lost all his subsequent matches, losing to Randy Orton, Alister Black, Trick Williams, and others.

A couple of weeks ago, Cardona got involved in the Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes WWE Title feud and paid for it when he was first viciously attacked by The Viper and later put out of his misery when Orton defeated him in a match at a time when Cardona’s arm was already injured from the beating he had taken earlier.

The latest loss of his losing streak was against Trick Williams this past Friday on SmackDown. Williams is locked in a feud with Sami Zayn for the WWE United States Championship, but Cardona got an opportunity to wrestle Williams amid the feud’s planned build-up.

Cardona knows about what’s happening and took to Twitter/X to address the issue. He opened up about the fact that the match he got against Trick Williams on the latest SmackDown episode wasn’t pre-planned, but since he was ready, WWE allowed him the opportunity to wrestle on the night.

Matt Cardona Addresses Losing Streak On X

Losing streaks can hamper a wrestler’s character if they last too long, but Matt Cardona has a positive outlook on the matter. He believes in being ready all the time so that opportunities will come his way.

Matt Cardona says on his X post that he was going to film a commercial and fly home early, but chose to show up ready and got to perform instead.

“I wasn’t originally booked to wrestle yesterday on #SmackDown. I was just going to film a commercial and maybe even fly home early. I still showed up in shape, tan, and ready to go. Guess what happened? Things changed and I got a match. I was…wait for it…Alwayz Ready. In my mind, that’s how it supposed to be. If you want opportunities, show up prepared…no matter what.

Matt Cardona explained his losing streak further by reminding everyone that he is no stranger to losses, saying that he has had plenty of losses during his long tenure as a wrestler, but wins big when the time is right for him.

I didn’t get the win against Trick Williams. And yes, I’ve lost more matches than I’ve won since I returned to @WWE. But check my win/loss record over my 20 plus years in this business….even the past 5 years that I spent on the indies. I lose…A LOT! But when I win, I win BIG! I’M…NOT…FINISHED!

Trick Williams is set to face Sami Zayn in night two of WrestleMania 42 for Zayn’s United States Championship. He will likely have his friend, rapper Lil Yachty, by his side, helping him.

WrestleMania 42 takes place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, on the 18th and 19th of April.
