Mark Henry has lifted the lid on the reason behind WWE’s decision to turn their attention away from a current AEW star.

Current TBS Champion Jade Cargill seemed destined to be heading to WWE, after she attended a tryout and there was a contract offer put on the table. However, that deal didn’t work for both parties and Cargill would end up being All Elite.

WWE Hall Of Famer Mark Henry, speaking on Busted Open Radio, has noted that it was “financial considerations” which led to WWE turning their attention away from Cargill.

I made that offer to them [WWE] but they didn’t want to relinquish enough control. You know, there was financial considerations and all of that stuff that is personal information. But, I also knew people over there in AEW and I was on ‘Team Jade’ so I was like, ‘Listen, I’ve got somebody for y’all if y’all want her, this is what’s necessary’ – and boom, they picked her up.

Jade Cargill has been quoted in the past as calling Mark Henry her mentor whilst training at the Face 2 Face Wrestling School. She would later be trained by Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall at The Nightmare Factory before signing her deal with All Elite Wrestling, subsequently making her debut to confront Cody Rhodes and tease the arrival of Shaquille O’ Neal.

Although Cargill went with the AEW offer, it has been reported that her work for the company has garnered further eyes from WWE. AEW President Tony Khan is quoted as saying that signing Cargill was a gamble which paid off, whilst Booker T has tipped the TBS Champion to become one of the greatest competitors of all time.
