Major WWE Star Bids Farewell After WrestleMania 42: “Thank You”
Post-WrestleMania, WWE is in the process of revitalizing the main rosters on both Raw and SmackDown.
One of the ways the company does it is by expanding the roster by bringing fresh faces from NXT, which is the company’s developmental brand.
The turn of the new year saw several wrestlers join either the red or the blue brand. Owing to the likes of Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Jordynne Grace, and Je’Von Evans leaving NXT, reports claimed that the brand was in a crisis.
However, under the guidance of WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, the black & silver brand bumped up a few wrestlers from the company’s ID program, including Keanu Carver, EK Prosper, and The Vanity Project. More recently, Kendal Grey was also promoted to NXT.
The Vanity Project currently serves as NXT Tag Team Champions, whereas Keanu Carver recently defeated former champion Joe Hendry in a singles match.
Sol Ruca Moved To WWE Main Roster From NXT
Reports of Sol Ruca joining WWE’s main roster had done the rounds when the first pool of wrestlers arrived, but the higher-ups decided that it would create a bigger void to be filled, thus postponing her movement.
It gave NXT a proper way to first separate her from her tag team partner, Zaria, and then give her an ideal final match on the brand.
After Zaria betrayed her during the February 24 episode of NXT, Ruca began a feud with her former best friend. The two superstars clashed multiple times, including once at Stand & Deliver, where it took Ruca three Sol Snatchers to put Zaria down.
On April 21, they competed in a Last Woman Standing match, where Zaria beat Ruca by pushing her from a platform onto the tables that were set up on the floor.
Unfortunately, Ruca only crashed through one of those, with the back of her head hitting the corner of the second table, creating a gnarly spot for viewers.
Before her final NXT match, Ruca made her Raw debut on the episode after WrestleMania, where she lost to Liv Morgan following an interference from Zaria.
On April 23, Sol Ruca took to Instagram, bidding adieu to the developmental brand, confirming her move to the WWE main roster.
