Major WWE Star Expected To Make Raw Return

Wrestling Legend Raves About WWE Superstar's

A major name in WWE is expected to return on Monday Night Raw.

Rhea Ripley was on top of the WWE Universe at WrestleMania 40 when she defeated Becky Lynch to retain the Women’s World Championship in one of the biggest matches at the show.

On the April 8th Raw after WrestleMania episode in Philadelphia, Rhea Ripley was attacked by Liv Morgan in a backstage segment that saw Morgan throw Ripley into a wall. It was one week later on Raw in Montreal when an emotional Ripley had to forfeit the Women’s World Championship. After 379 days as the Women’s World Champion, Ripley was no longer a champion.

It had been previously reported by Fightful Select that WWE was planning to bring back Ripley around SummerSlam, which takes place August 3rd in Cleveland and is the next WWE PLE on the calendar.

As for when Rhea Ripley might return to WWE television, the @WrkdWrestling account on X/Twitter reports that Ripley is expected to make her triumphant return to tonight’s July 8th episode of Raw in Canada’s capital city Ottawa.

While the WRKD Wrestling account hasn’t reported many backstage stories in 2024, they did get a lot of things right in 2023. Meanwhile, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has reposted his previous reports about Ripley’s WWE comeback, which likely means Ripley’s WWE return is happening on Raw tonight.

If Rhea Ripley does return from her shoulder injury and is cleared to wrestle again then it’s likely she could go after the current WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, who not only has Ripley’s title, but has also been flirting heavily with Dominik Mysterio, who has been Ripley’s on-screen ally for nearly two years.

UPDATE: Rhea Ripley did come back on Raw and got a huge ovation from the fans.

AEW’s Serena Deeb Knew Rhea Ripley Would Be A Massive Star In WWE

Since being away from WWE television, Rhea Ripley got married to AEW wrestler Buddy Matthews (former Buddy Murphy in WWE) and was even backstage at AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV in May in Las Vegas.

Serena Deeb of AEW saw Ripley at Double or Nothing. Deeb was also a WWE coach at the Performance Center when Ripley was there, so Deeb recalled what it was like seeing Ripley again.

“I actually saw her at Double or Nothing. I saw her, I couldn’t believe it when I saw her. I was completely shocked. We embraced each other, I gave her the biggest hug, and we seriously did not let go for like ten minutes. We were just standing there with our arms around each other. I cried multiple times.”

“I told her, ‘I’m so proud of you, I knew it. You’ve persevered through so much.’ I love watching her. I think she’s the biggest star in women’s wrestling. I think her in-ring work is incredible, on top of all her character work. She’s number one. I told her that.”

“In my personal opinion, she’s just operating at a level that, there’s a lot of great women, but she’s up here in my opinion. When I saw her, I was like, ‘I want to wrestle you so bad.’ I think for both of us, it’s a dream match, for sure.”

As for tonight’s Raw in Ottawa, TJRWrestling will have a full review later this evening.
