Major WWE Faction Officially Disbands After Leader’s Shocking Exit
A major WWE faction has officially broken up.
News about Santos Escobar’s departure from the company made the news last night, resulting in the members of Legado Del Fantasma going their separate ways.
Before reviving the faction from NXT, Escobar was a member of the Latino World Order, which he left after a disgreement with Rey Mysterio.
Escobar then brought on board Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza and kicked Joaquin Wilde, Del Toro, and Zelina Vega from the stable. He continued serving as the leader of New Legado Del Fantasma until his departure on October 7.
Santos Escobar is a former NXT Cruiserweight Champion and was signed to SmackDown.
PWInsider reported that the 41-year-old Mexican wrestler was offered a new contract, inclusive of a pay rise. However, he was not seeking a pay rise, but rather a clear-cut direction for his on-screen character.
Escobar subsequently decided against renewing his contract and opted to leave WWE instead, signaling the end of Legado Del Fantasma.
Multiple Stars Quit WWE Recently
Santos Escobar is one of the numerous popular stars to quit WWE recently.
On September 13, Andrade was moved to the alumni section on the company’s official website. While the exact reason for it was not revealed, it was reported that the 35-year-old was fired after multiple wellness policy violations.
El Idolo officially returned to his former employer, AEW, after appearing on the October 1 taping of Dynamite, where he attacked Kenny Omega.
In the same month, Jazmyn Nyx of Fatal Influence was brutally written off, enduring a backstage attack. The segment showed her laid out, with the faction’s leader, Jacy Jayne, coldly saying, “It was time to drop her anyway.”
Nyx later explained that the renewed contract offered to her was not financially sustainable for her.
Another NXT star, Edris Enofe, announced his exit from the company, too.
