An update has emerged on Penelope Ford following an injury she sustained on AEW Dynamite.

Ford was part of a Women’s World Tag Team Championship match alongside Megan Bayne, as MegaBad challenged the Babes of Wrath.

While Bayne and Ford dominated the match, it witnessed an abrupt ending as the faction’s newest member, Lena Kross, hit Willow Nightingale on the head with one of the title belts, causing disqualification.

Penelope Ford’s injury occurred when she attempted a top rope moonsault outside the ring on her opponents. Unfortunately, Nightingale and Harley Cameron were more apart than they were expected to be, leading to Ford falling through them rather than on them.

While she tried to re-enter the match, the pain in her foot was too much to bear, as AEW was forced to call an audible with Kross’s interference.

After the match, the villainous trio appeared in a backstage promo, which showed Ford on crutches, sparking a worry among fans.

Penelope Ford’s Injury Less Serious Than Expected

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer revealed that Penelope Ford suffered an ankle sprain on Dynamite.

Despite her being shown on crutches, she is not expected to be out of action for an extended duration. However, before making a full return, the 33-year-old star will take some time off to recover.

Before Ford’s injury, the trio was reportedly in plans to receive a major push. Nevertheless, sources reveal that their momentum has not been derailed due to the setback, but only pushed back for a later date.
