CM Punk is getting ready to return to WWE, and a date has been mentioned for when that will happen.

In the main event of WrestleMania 42 Sunday, CM Punk lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns in what many people are calling the WWE match of the year so far.

While the veteran Punk lost the match to his younger opponent, Punk was praised by many people for the way he built the match up and then delivered one of the best matches of his career.

After appearing on the post-WrestleMania edition of Raw on April 20th to tease a future match with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, CM Punk has been away from WWE television for nearly two months.

Since Punk has been away from WWE television, there have been several rumors about the former World Champion having heat with the company’s bosses or maybe wanting out, but none of those rumors appear to be true.

Due to Punk’s history of controversy in both WWE and AEW, there are always going to be unsubstantiated rumors about the man, whether deserved or not.

Regarding the future, WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that Punk is likely to be back on WWE TV as soon as July, which means he’s unlikely to appear before the Night of Champions PLE on June 27th.

It was added that Punk is “scheduled to play a significant role at August’s two-day SummerSlam event” on August 1st and August 2nd.

As for a specific date, Monday, July 6th was mentioned as the date of a Raw episode that will likely feature a CM Punk appearance, since it’s taking place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, where Punk lives. However, the date has not been confirmed.

CM Punk’s WWE absence was recently described as a break for a hard-working veteran wrestler.

“It’s a well-deserved rest for a guy who’s been going, outside of injury, for three straight years. Just main evented WrestleMania—get a little time off. He’ll be back in no time, right back at the top of the card. It is not true they have no plans for CM Punk.”

CM Punk Has No Timetable On Wrestling Retirement

While some of his greatest wrestling friends, like John Cena and AJ Styles, retired in the last year, CM Punk isn’t planning his retirement from wrestling any time soon.

“No, I don’t put a timetable on it because I know it could end like that any day… I don’t want to say, like, ‘Hey, I’m really pushing for XYZ and that I’m going to make it.’ I remember the heartbreak I felt when I came back and there were all these great plans ahead, and I tore my tricep.

It just felt like I let a lot of people down. I let myself down. It was just a freak accident… the thing was probably hanging on by a thread from years of wear and tear.”

At 47, the 5-time WWE World Champion CM Punk is one of the oldest active wrestlers in the company, but he admits he wants to keep wrestling “until the wheels fall off,” which means he’ll go as long as he can.

“Now it’s just about greeting every day with a smile, and every situation is going to be different. I’ve done everything—every Christmas Loop show, I did a full European tour… everyone keeps telling me, ‘Hey man, you don’t got to do this.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I get it, I don’t have to do it, but I have to do it.’

Especially with this (World Title) around my waist, I feel like there’s a responsibility… I still feel very much inclined to work harder. If something’s aching, not to cry about it because we’re all aching.

I don’t know how many of these I have left in me… it is an honor. To me, I’m going until the wheels fall off.”

Enjoy the break, CM Punk, and WWE fans hoping for his return won’t have to wait too long because July is right around the corner.
