Lexis King Learns His Next WWE Speed Championship Challenger On NXT
WWE NXT was scheduled to host some exciting matches on the show tonight, with Lola Vice’s Women’s Championship title defense against Izzi Dame set to main event the show.
There were a couple of other matches as well, which had direct implications on Lexis King’s WWE Speed Championship as the title’s Number One Contender tournament began tonight.
Two matches were scheduled for the show, with the final of the tournament taking place next week. However, as the first match between Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux ended in a time limit draw, both competitors were eliminated from the match.
WWE Speed Championship gets its new title contender
The result of the first match automatically made the second bout the final for the WWE Speed Championship, which saw Nathan Frazer return to the brand and take on Romeo Moreno.
Both men had a fast-paced match that saw both of them gain an advantage for the entire match. Moreno then picked up the speed and tried to put an end to Nathan Frazer. He sent him out of the ring and hit him with a huge suicide dive.
Moreno was about to go for a huge move from the top of the turnbuckle, but Frazer recovered in time and hit a Superplex to Moreno. However, just as he was about to follow it up with the Falcon Arrow, Moreno trapped him in an inside cradle pin to get the win for himself and become the new number one contender for the WWE Speed Championship.
