Kenny Omega has reached out to the originator of the Go 2 Sleep after he hit the move during his AEW Dynamite match – and it wasn’t CM Punk.
Dynamite in Chicago was going to prove an interesting test for The Elite as they returned to CM Punk’s hometown for the first time since their alleged backstage fight following the All Out pay-per-view in early September.
The crowd audibly booed the group and chanted for CM Punk during their entrance, but The Elite had more up their sleeve during their best-of-seven series bout with Death Triangle. During the match, Kenny Omega used CM Punk’s Go 2 Sleep taunt before hitting PAC with the move. In reference to Ace Steel supposedly biting Omega during the fight, Omega was also seen biting the former All-Atlantic Champion.
Now taking to social media, Kenny Omega has indicated – with tongue firmly in cheek – who his G2S was intended to impress, the innovator of the move, NJPW star KENTA:
“Thank you, @KENTAG2S. Always a good brother. Bullet Club 4-Life amirite?”

Following The Elite’s antics – which included Matt Jackson mocking Punk’s failed attempt at hitting a Buckshot Lariat – a report has suggested that those close to CM Punk are “not happy” with what took place in Chicago on Dynamite.
