John Laurinaitis Set For First Post-WWE Appearance

John Laurinaitis

Former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis is set to make his first public appearance since being let go from the company in 2022.

John Laurinaitis began working for WWE full-time following the closure of WCW in 2001. Laurinaitis replaced Jim Ross as the company’s Head of Talent Relations in the mid-2000s and it’s safe to say that there is no love lost between the two men given Ross’ recent comments about the man who competed in the ring as Johnny Ace.

Laurinaitis continued in that role for several years before being replaced by Triple H. However by 2021, Laurinaitis was back as the company’s Head of Talent Relations as WWE continued making massive cuts to its roster with budget reasons being given as the reason for many of the releases.

However, in the summer of 2022 the wrestling landscape changed forever when it emerged that Vince McMahon was under investigation by WWE’s Board of Directors for alleged ‘hush money’ payments made as a result of alleged sexual misconduct. John Laurinaitis was heavily implicated in one of the allegations and he was quietly relieved of his duties while McMahon announced his retirement.

Now Laurinaitis will be making a return to the wrestling world of sorts as he is being advertised for an appearance at Wrestlecon which will run over WrestleMania 39 weekend in Los Angeles, CA. PWInsider has reported that John Laurinaitis is being brought to the event by Bobby Fulton’s Big Time Collectibles.
