John Cena’s Father Predicts Son’s Final WWE Opponent

John Cena’s dad believes he knows who his legendary WWE son should face in a final match.

The John Cena “Last Time Is Now” tournament kicks off on the November 10th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, which will see Cena in attendance.

Two matches have been announced for the 16-man tournament so far: Sheamus vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev vs. Damian Priest. There will be more matches in the coming weeks.

There are plenty of rumors about upcoming opponents for John Cena, including a match against Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series on November 29. That match with Dominik could be for the Intercontinental Title, which is the only major singles title in WWE that Cena never held.

In an interview with Sportskeeda’s Wrestlebinge, Cena’s father, John Cena Sr., also backed the idea of his son facing Dominik at Survivor Series, with John winning the Intercontinental Title.

“I think the guy that he’s going to face and should face is Dominik Mysterio. You can already see that storyline coming in slow, but sure, because if you want some, come get some. And Mysterio’s answer was, ‘If you want some, come get some.’ So in Boston, I think that’s going to come to a head.

If I were writing that, Cena would be cutting a promo. There’d be an interruption by Dominik Mysterio. Maybe Mysterio lays him out in the ring. That sets the match up for Survivor Series, and hopefully, at that match, if they’re writing the end of the era, there’s a grand slam because it’s the only title he hasn’t had. So we’ve got a little storyline there.”

John Cena’s Dad Wants Dominik Mysterio To Be Final Cena Opponent

At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th in Washington, D.C., John Cena will have his final WWE match.

There have been numerous reports that the former two-time WWE World Champion Gunther could win the 16-man tournament to face John Cena in his final match. It would be the first time Cena wrestles Gunther, and it’s likely that Gunther would win the match.

If John Cena Sr. got to pick his son’s final opponent, he would go with Dominik Mysterio in a Survivor Series rematch, and he would have Dirty Dom get the IC Title back in the match.

“I don’t think we should stop the storyline there. At the very last match in Washington, DC, it should be Mysterio against Cena to get his belt back. That would close that chapter. The one thing I’ve seen with the WWE writing this tour is [that] there’s been a lot of storylines with no finishes.”

In the same interview, John Cena Sr. also vented about how his son lost easily to Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza. If it were up to Cena Sr., it would have gone differently.
