John Cena Explains Why His Retirement Tour Had “The Perfect End”
The year 2025 in WWE will be remembered as John Cena’s Farewell Tour.
He worked through the year on various dates and gave fans one last hurrah before hanging up his boots.
During the tour, he turned heel, became the 17-time World Champion, secured the title of the Grand Slam Champion, turned babyface, and much more. His final match was against Gunther, in which he tapped out.
John Cena is at peace with how the retirement tour ended
The Champ’s fans weren’t happy about the heel turn since nothing amounted from it, and it was potentially termed a failure. Furthermore, his tapping out in his final match wasn’t how anyone expected the tour to end.
However, while many were unhappy with how things turned out, some fans and critics had great things to say about it.
During the New Orleans Fan Expo, John Cena revealed that the varying emotions from everyone during the retirement tour paralleled his career, and he believes it was a perfect end.
Thank you for being vocal enough to express how you felt because every moment can be a teachable moment. I put together, my job is to try to put together a story that I think you all enjoy. And when there’s critical opinion out there, I’m all ears.
I guess it kind of parallels my career. I think it was a perfect end, because a whole lot of people thought it sucked, a whole lot of people thought it was special, and that’s kind of been my story for 23 years. So I thought it was perfect.
John Cena has claimed that he will never return to WWE as a pro-wrestler. However, he is going to be associated with the company after signing an ambassador deal.
