Jey Uso has not gotten the best reception from some fans and critics.

Uso was the Men’s Royal Rumble Match winner in 2025 and went on to WrestleMania to defeat Gunther via submission to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

Uso would lose the belt back to Gunther in a subsequent rematch, however, and go on throughout the year to have a series of losses.

This led his brother Jimmy to urge Jey that the pair compete in the Tag Team Division once again as The Usos late last year.

Soon enough, they were WWE Tag Team Champions after winning the belts from AJ Styles and Dragon Lee on the final Raw episode of 2025.

They defended their titles against Alpha Academy last Monday on Raw, but Jey’s singles run seems to be far from over, as Jimmy was once again seen urging Jey to qualify for the Elimination Chamber to try and get himself a shot at the World Title again.

Many fans consider Jey Uso to be an overrated wrestler, and he was voted Most Overrated Wrestler Of The Year by readers of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Jey responded with an Instagram story saying:

Yall really love me

Jey Uso Talks About His Retirement

Speaking to Cody Rhodes on his What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast, Jey Uso got candid and said that wrestlers his age are always looking at their way out, even though he still feels strong and fit enough to wrestle another 15 years.

I’mma be honest, man. We ain’t young bugs no more. We kind of like on our way out, if we want to go out. I still feel strong. I still feel good. I look good, Uce. Man, like I’m ready to go, man. 15 more years, I’m with it. I’m down. This is all. I love wrestling. I’m gonna give my life. I have. This ain’t no job. We grew up in the game. That’s the difference.
