Jelly Roll Reveals His Biggest Fear Coming Into WWE
Jelly Roll had a brief yet memorable run in WWE in 2025.
The multi-time Grammy Award nominee found himself in the midst of a celebrity rivalry with Logan Paul before SummerSlam.
While he had made earlier appearances on WWE shows, this rivalry culminated in a celebrity match at the August premium live event.
Along the way, he found himself an ally in Randy Orton, while Paul teamed up with Drew McIntyre.
Episode 4 of Netflix’s WWE: Unreal, titled ‘Performance Art,’ gave fans a firsthand look into Jelly Roll’s preparation for his tag team match.
He spoke about his 2023 confrontation with Dominik Mysterio, which led him to contemplate about possibly getting featured in a match in the near future.
With that thought in mind, he began to shed his weight and ultimately spoke to the company’s higher-ups about seriously considering him for a storyline.
The 41-year-old also revealed his biggest fear coming into the company, being a non-wrestler.
I was nervous about everything. I was nervous about could I hurt somebody? What if I come in this business for just one night, into their world, selfishly, and hurt one of these guys? You know, I didn’t want nobody to get hurt on my watch. That was super important.
Jelly Roll Requested A Loss At SummerSlam
Going into his match at SummerSlam, Jelly Roll made a special request to WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H.
Episode 5 of the docuseries revealed an interaction between him and the 14-time World Champion, where the celebrity asked for the result to not be in his favor.
In reply, Triple H said he was 60-40 in favor of him losing the match.
The tag team match also witnessed Jelly Roll crashing through the commentator’s table after Logan Paul hit a Frog Splash on him off the turnbuckles.
Ultimately, the babyfaces lost the match.
