Jade Cargill was nervous about how WWE fans would react to her debut.

After rising to become one of the biggest stars in the AEW women’s division and the TBS Champion, Jade Cargill allowed her contract to expire in September 2023. Just days later, it was announced that she’d signed a multi-year contract with WWE.

Despite brief appearances across Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, Cargill was forced to wait to make her in-ring debut until the Royal Rumble.

As she arrived in the 2024 women’s Royal Rumble match at number 28, Cargill was given a monster reaction from the packed stadium in Florida and eliminated three rivals before being taken out.

Jade Cargill Was Worried About The Crowd’s Reaction

During an appearance on the RAW Recap, Cargill explained that she doesn’t usually get nervous, but that all changed as she was preparing to walk out at the Royal Rumble.

“I don’t get nervous. I was nervous, though. I was very nervous because I didn’t know how the crowd would react. I was training for a while so I didn’t know the response. I was more nervous about, okay, will I get a response? Is it going to be a good response, you know? Is it going to be perceived as a healthy response? So that was more so what I was living through in real time.

I came out and I was like, okay. That’s what I was feeling. I don’t get nervous, but that I had gotten nervous about. I was breathing.. Everybody was like, it’s okay. You got it. Again, I’m going to keep on putting over these phenomenal women. I’m in there with phenomenal women and I had nothing to worry about.”

Jade Cargill will be back in action at Night of Champions on June 28 when she faces Asuka in the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament. Cargill got past Roxanne Bliss in the semi-finals after beating Michin, Nia Jax, and Piper Niven in a Fatal-Four-Way Match.
