A WWE Hall of Famer was unhappy with Vince McMahon’s use of an inappropriate word on TV.

Vince McMahon is one of the most controversial people in the world of professional wrestling. As polarizing as Vince was, he wasn’t afraid of pushing the boundaries when it came to TV. Vince was involved in booking many controversial angles and segments that would not see the light of day today.

Vince McMahon was involved in a controversial backstage segment at Survivor Series 2005. McMahon ran into Booker T in the backstage area and used the n-word, which caught the WWE legend off guard. This was one of the most shocking moments on WWE TV.

D-Von Dudley calls Vince McMahon’s use of the n-word disgusting for business

During an interview with DJ Vlad, D-Von Dudley said that Vince McMahon’s use of that racial slur was wrong and he was so offended that he stopped watching WWE for a while.

“To use that word in this type of business, I thought was absolutely wrong. I was offended by it to the point where I had stopped watching the WWE for a while and I just concentrated on TNA and what I was doing there,” D-Von said. “That type of stuff has no business in pro wrestling.”

He also said that the segment was done for shock value, but it failed to get the reaction WWE expected.

“I definitely feel that was for shock value. It did get a reaction, but I don’t think it was the right reaction. I don’t think it’s the reaction that they thought they were going to get,” he said.

D-Von Dudley further added that hearing Vince use a racial slur was harmful, considering how much racism existed in the professional wrestling industry.

“At one point this business was all white and you had very few minorities in it. When I hear the stories from Koko B. Ware, when I heard the stories from Junkyard Dog, Bad News Brown, about how the racism was in pro wrestling and what they had to deal with, to use that word in this type of business, I’m sorry, I don’t say this is best for business. I think it’s disgusting for business,” D-Von said. [H/T WrestlingNewsCo]

WWE could’ve gotten in serious trouble if such a word were uttered on TV today.
