Jade Cargill Facing Former Champion On WWE SmackDown

Jade Cargill will be in action on WWE SmackDown against a former champion. 

The WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill has held her championship since November 1st, and has yet to defend it on television. Cargill doesn’t make the matches, but she’s taking a lot of heat due to the lack of title defenses. Cargill hasn’t defended her title on television, but she has done it at live events.

On the January 16th edition of WWE SmackDown, Jade Cargill was at ringside during a match that saw Jordynne Grace beat Chelsea Green.

After the match, Jordynne Grace did a promo to Jade Cargill, saying it was nice of her to be there to see what is coming for her. Grace challenged Jade to step into the ring with her while Cargill was on the apron. That’s when Green charged at Grace, who moved, so Green knocked Cargill off the apron to the floor. Grace held up the WWE Women’s Title, and then she tossed it at Cargill on the floor.

Due to Green knocking Cargill off the apron to the floor, a match was made for WWE SmackDown in Montreal on January 23rd, which will see Cargill face the former Women’s US Champion Green in a non-title match. In past interactions, Green has acted fearfully of Cargill, so now she’ll have to try to beat Cargill in a match.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 24th will also take place in Montreal.

Jade Cargill Wants Dream Match With Charlotte Flair

During a recent interview, WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill named Charlotte Flair as a dream opponent she hopes to face in WWE someday.

“Charlotte Flair. I love Charlotte Flair. I think she and I will have an amazing match. And one thing I know that Charlotte does is, she pulls whomever up that she works with or she tries her best to do that.

And she wants to do nothing but represent and elevate the women’s division. And I want to do the same exact thing. So that’s one woman I want to work with for sure.

I mean, it’s Charlotte Flair. I really want to work with Charlotte Flair. And she has this persona that’s beyond herself as well, so I would love to go toe-to-toe with Charlotte Flair. She’s the ‘Top Girl,’ I’m the ‘It Girl.’ Like, I would love that.”

A Jade Cargill-Charlotte Flair match certainly could happen down the road since they are both on SmackDown. For now, Cargill has to focus on facing Chelsea Green on SmackDown.
