Is 3-Time WWE Champion’s In-Ring Career Over?
This former WWE star has been on YouTube for quite a while now
Former WWE star Maven Huffman (Known in the ring as Maven) was the winner of the first season of Tough Enough in 2001. This success led him to the main roster on Raw, where he was presented as a rookie babyface who was ready to take on veterans.
He is known for famously dropkicking the Undertaker and eliminating the Deadman from the Royal Rumble match of 2002.
Things didn’t go very well for the former 3-time Hardcore Champion, however, as he struggled to develop his character, and WWE didn’t know what to do with him, so they never gave him a big singles push. He was released in 2005.
Maven has gained a lot of recognition on the internet in recent times with his YouTube channel, where he talks about his WWE career, how me has managed post the release, and also candidly speaks about WWE’s backstage politics.
He can also be seen on multiple podcasts with former co-stars on their channels and his own, where they come in as guests.
Former WWE Star Maven Talks About His In-Ring Career Being Over
The 49-year-old was recently on Mad Mac Davis’ podcast with former WWE star Teddy Long. In the episode, he opened up about the opportunities for wrestlers he is creating who know for a fact that their career is over.
I’m open with whatever knowledge I have now about YouTube. We help as many people as we can and I invite everyone,
you know, once your days are over like mine in the ring, man, there’s there’s other opportunities for you. Yes, absolutely.
To this, Teddy Long urged Maven not to say never because in this business, there is always a possibility of coming back giving the former Hardcore Champion some hope.
I want to say this to you, Maven. Don’t ever say your days are over because you never know. You know what I mean? And once you’re in this business and you’ve been in it for a while, it kind of sticks with you for your entire life. So, you know, like I said, there may be a big blessing out there for you and it may be somewhere.
you may just maybe come back, make a comeback. You know what I mean? So, you don’t don’t ever say that. I don’t think think your career is over, not yet. (14:55 onwards)
