Impact Wrestling “Hard To Kill” PPV Putting Title Vs. Career Match In Main Event
The Impact Wrestling Knockouts Title match will headline the company’s first pay-per-view event of 2023, Hard to Kill.
On the January 12th edition of Impact Wrestling’s television show, the company announced that the Knockouts Title match will headline tonight’s January 13th Hard to Kill pay-per-view event. The match will see Jordynne Grace defend the Knockouts Title against wrestling legend Mickie James, who started a “Last Rodeo” story several months ago.
The announcement that Grace and James will headline Hard to Kill also coincides with Impact announcing that the Impact World Championship Full Metal Mayhem Match between champion Josh Alexander and challenger Bully Ray will open the PPV.
The “Last Rodeo” story by James has seen her face some of the best women in Impact Wrestling with the idea that if she lost a match, she would retire. Now that she’s facing Grace for the first time with the title on the line, James will either win the match to continue her career as the Knockouts Champion again or she will retire from professional wrestling.
Jordynne Grace has held the Knockouts Title since June and this will be the first time she has wrestled James, who is a former four-time Knockouts Champion. James has been wrestling for more than 20 years and has been regularly featured on television for nearly 18 years going back to her WWE debut in October 2005.
This will be the second year in a row that James is in the main event of Hard To Kill. At the 2022 edition of the event, James defeated Deonna Purrazzo in a Texas Deathmatch to retain the Knockouts Title.
