IMPACT Wrestling Bringing Back Special Match For 1000th Episode

WWE are not the only promotion featuring wrestlers fighting for a briefcase.

Known for their off-the-wall match stipulations, IMPACT Wrestling has announced on social media that the Feast or Fired match will be making its return for the landmark 1000th episode.

The rules of the match are simple. Four briefcases hang above each of the corners of the. The competitors start in the ring and the match concludes when all four cases have been unhooked. Three of the briefcases contain a title shot for either the World Heavyweight, X-Division or Tag Team Championships. Much like Money in the Bank, these opportunities can be redeemed at any point.

However, the final case is the one that no one wants to receive, as it notifies the holder that their services are no longer required and has been used in the past to write wrestlers off of TV as they are legitimately departing the promotion.

Of the 21 championship opportunity cases that have been retrieved, 12 have been successful in their respective title matches, meaning that the success rate is 57%.

At the time of writing, no participants have been announced for the match that will take place on September 9th.

What Is Happening On IMPACT 1000?

The promotion with a 20-year-plus history by bringing back some of their most iconic match types. Along with the Feast or Fired match, fans will get to see the Ultimate X match make its return to TV, with participants also to be announced.

Other matches announced include Frankie Kazarian & Traci Brooks vs. Eddie Edwards & Alisha Edwards and Team 3D to reunite.

A meeting also recently took place at IMPACT that featured both talent and production staff. Those at the meeting were informed that significant upgrades would be coming to the promotion in the near future.
