Iconic WWE Women’s Champion Makes Shock Impact Wrestling Return (SPOILER)

IMPACT Wrestling

A familiar face was back in the ring for Impact Wrestling during the company’s most recent television tapings.

At the Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill pay-per-view this past Friday night in Atlanta, Mickie James defeated Jordynne Grace in the main event to become the Knockouts Champion. The match had a special stipulation because if Mickie lost then she would retire per the stipulation that she came up with as part of the “The Last Rodeo” storyline.

Since Mickie’s career was on the line in the match, her family was at ringside along with one of her best friends – Lisa Marie Varon, who wrestling fans know as Victoria in WWE and Tara during her TNA/Impact Wrestling career. Mickie and Lisa also host a popular YouTube show together along with SoCal Val called GAW TV. Mickie’s family and Lisa joined her in the ring to celebrate the win.

The next night on Saturday, January 14th, Impact Wrestling held a TV taping in Atlanta. During the tapings, the former five-time IMPACT Knockouts Champion Tara returned to the ring. She teamed with Gisele Shaw to challenge Death Dollz (Taya Valkyrie & Jessicka) for the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championships. The team of Tara and Shaw lost the match while Tara also hit Shaw with the Widow’s Peak after the match due to be having issues with Shaw.

Lisa/Tara retired as a pro wrestler in 2019, but she does wrestle occasionally. This was her first match since she competed in the 2021 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble match. It was also her first match in Impact Wrestling since 2013.
