Huge Update On Jay White Possibly Joining WWE

Jay White

A new report has given an insight as to whether WWE will finally land Jay White.

The future of former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White has been the subject of much discussion since the tail end of 2022. Many speculated that he could end up part of the 2023 Royal Rumble, despite still being signed to New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Although he didn’t make an appearance in WWE’s January showpiece, his association with NJPW was soon to come to an end. In short order White last two matches with critical stipulations – against Hikuleo which banished him from Japan, and then Eddie Kingston which meant he left the company altogether.

This led to even more speculation as where his next destination might be, with talks reportedly ongoing with both WWE and AEW. As time went on, it appeared WWE were growing increasingly confident that they were going to gain his signature.

However, a new report from Mike Johnson at Pro Wrestling Insider Elite would indicate that confidence may have been premature, and that Jay White is not destined to join WWE.

We are told it does not appear White is WWE-bound.

This could of course be inaccurate or a red herring, although it does then lead to more speculation whether he could be set to join AEW instead, having already competed there in the past as part of the Forbidden Door crossover event with NJPW.
