A former WWE writer claimed that Triple H should’ve lost his job as the creative head. The personality in question is Vince Russo.

After Vince McMahon announced his retirement in 2022, Triple H was appointed as the WWE CCO and head of creative. Although he was highly praised for his regime in the early years, The Game has been facing a lot of backlash for his creative decisions since last year.

Nevertheless, Triple H signed a new deal with WWE recently, and he will continue as the company’s head of creative despite a lot of backlash. Meanwhile, Vince Russo has expressed his displeasure with Triple H signing a new deal and getting a raise.

Former WWE head writer believes Triple H should’ve lost his job

Speaking on the Two Man Power Trip podcast, the former WWE head writer, Vince Russo said that Triple H should’ve been out of his job instead of getting a raise due to the decline in ratings and other factors:

Everything that he’s done, he should have lost his job. Forget about getting a freaking pay raise, bro. The ratings never grow—they go down. The ratings continue to slide on USA Network and on Netflix.”

Russo also highlighted the recent WWE releases of 20+ talents and blamed The Game for missing on them creatively:

You just released 23 people—that’s 23 people you swung and missed on. Bro, you swung and missed. If you’re a scout and you miss on 23 people, you’re out of a job way before that. So 23 people go through the system—that’s millions and millions of dollars wasted. Then you’ve got him doing an interview saying, ‘This isn’t like football, there are no backups.’ Bro, you’re supposed to be creating the backups.”

Vince Russo further accused Triple H of not knowing his audience and wondered how he got the pay raise:

You’re admitting you’ve got nobody ready to fill those spots. And in that same interview, he’s saying, ‘We don’t know if the audience is going to cheer or boo.’ That means he doesn’t know his audience. On top of that, look at WrestleMania sales. Look at Monday Night Raw—it was a 20,000-seat arena that was half full. And this guy’s getting a pay raise? It blows my mind.” [H/T Ringside News]

Vince Russo concluded that the massive business deals that WWE is making have nothing to do with Triple H.
