Gunther’s WWE Raw Return Confirmed

Gunther poses at WrestleMania 41

Gunther will be back on WWE television very soon.

At WrestleMania 40, Gunther’s staggering Intercontinental Title reign came to an end at the hands of Sami Zayn. The Austrian star had held the gold for a record-breaking 666 days, running up 21 successful defences.

Since the loss, Gunther has been absent from television, although he’s wrestled three times on a recent UK tour.

However, it’s been announced that the Imperium star will be back on screens on the April 22nd edition of Raw. The episode will also feature the crowning of a new Women’s World Champion with a Battle Royal set to take place to decide a successor to Rhea Ripley. The Eradicator was recently forced to relinquish the title through injury.

Meanwhile, new Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn is facing a new kind of adversity after Chad Gable turned heel by attacking him a week earlier. It’s been reported that WWE is creating a new heel faction built around Gable to establish his position on Monday nights.

The World Tag Team Championships will also be on the line as The Miz and R-Truth defend against Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.

WWE Star To Get “Gunther-Style” Push

Since arriving on the main roster, Gunther has proven to be a dominant force, and now that blueprint could be applied to a different rising star. According to a recent report from Fightful Select, WWE has big plans for NXT Champion and that could include a similar push to the former Intercontinental Champion when he heads to the main roster.
