Former WWE Tag Team Champions Reunite

A former top WWE tag team has reunited despite not working in the same company anymore.

Once upon a time Sheamus and Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli) didn’t just set the bar in WWE, they were The Bar. The two men started out as rivals put into a best-of-seven series against each other by then-Raw General Manager Mick Foley. Their final bout at Clash of Champions 2016 ended in a no contest so Foley had a better idea and made the two men a team.

Although initially hesitant to pair up, Sheamus and Cesaro soon found their rhythm and went on to capture tag team gold together on five occasions.

Now Claudio Castagnoli took to social media to share a picture of the two men catching up over a beverage with AEW Dynamite taking place in Nashville, Tennessee where Sheamus lives.

When did Claudio Castagnoli leave WWE?

Castagnoli and Sheamus split as a team after Sheamus suffered a concussion in April 2019 with the WWE Draft then separating the partners.

The Swiss star remained with WWE until his contract with the company expired in February 2022. Using his real name of Claudio Castagnoli, he returned to wrestling in June of the same year making his AEW debut at Forbidden Door where he defeated Zack Sabre Jr. and aligned with the Blackpool Combat Club.
