Ex-WWE Star Trying To Get Cleared After Secretive Absence
A former WWE star is trying to get cleared to get back in the ring after they unexpectedly stepped away from wrestling.
At NXT Heatwave in late August 2025, Ash By Elegance won the TNA Knockouts Championship from champion Jacy Jayne and former champion Masha Slamovich in a triple threat match.
The star formerly known as Dana Brooke in WWE was originally meant to defend that title at Victory Road against Slamovich, but that match never took place. Slamovich was pulled from the match after domestic abuse allegations were made against her. But Ash By Elegance never competed on that show either.
At Victory Road, Ash By Elegance was emotional as she revealed that she could no longer compete, although she did not specify why. Ash announced that she was stepping away from in-ring competition and reluctantly forfeited the Knockouts World Title.
TNA management kept Ash By Elegance’s condition a closely guarded secret, and there has never been any official confirmation as to why she had to stop competing. But now it seems she’s looking to make a return.
Ex-WWE Star Wants In-Ring Return
Speaking on Busted Open, the former WWE 24/7 Champion revealed that she’s working to get medically cleared so she can get back in the ring:
I don’t need to prove anything anymore. I mean, maybe a little bit in the ring still. I still wanna become champion. I definitely wanna come back. I’m definitely working better than ever to become medically cleared again. Right now, I’ve taken a little bit of off time to recover myself, deal with some medical issues but, I feel as though, the doctors — I never say never and I don’t let the doctors tell me no either.
I’m always trying to prove them wrong and get back on my horse and keep riding to the top and TNA has given me this amazing opportunity to do things, not only in the ring, but manage my girls… It’s awesome to do different roles within TNA. [h/t Fightful]
