A former WWE star has hit back.

On October 13, Ridge Holland announced that he’d been informed by WWE that his contract won’t be renewed when it expires in mid-November.

In a statement online, the star said that his seven-year run with the company had been “blighted by misfortune,” but he remained thankful for all of the opportunities he’d been given.

The story around Holland has proved to be especially controversial because he was given the news while recovering from a serious foot injury suffered in September while wrestling in TNA. As such, his departure drew a great deal of backlash online, although Holland confirmed that WWE has paid for his surgery.

Ex-WWE Star Lashes Out

In a new post on social media, Holland has now laid bare the struggle he faces after being let go by WWE. The British star admitted that he never imagined he’d be able to pay his mortgage, describing the company’s efforts to pay his medical bills as the “bare minimum.”

He concluded by saying he’d been “totally f*cked.”

“I never thought I’d not be able to pay my mortgage.

I feel like I’ve just been hung out to dry after getting injured working for another company on behalf of WWE.

Add to that my contract not being renewed knowing that I wouldn’t be able to wrestle for 7 months. This is brutal.

Yes they are taking care of the surgery and physical therapy but let’s be honest, that’s the bare minimum after what we sacrifice for the company.

Plus the possibility of having to get my neck fused too.

Talk about getting totally f*cked.”

During his time with WWE, Ridge Holland won the NXT Tag Team Championship alongside Andre Chase in August 2024. Prior to suffering his injury, the star had largely been used in Evolve and TNA.
