Ex-WWE Manager: I Was In “Do Not Touch” Category… I Didn’t Know That

This former WWE manager says he was in a category of performers that other wrestlers couldn’t hurt.

Managers who accompany or represent wrestlers add an extra layer to the wrestlers’ characters in pro-wrestling.

One such manager was WWE veteran Dutch Mantell.

Mantell, who played the character of manager Zeb Colter to different wrestlers from Jack Swagger to Alberto Del Rio, worked with this gimmick in WWE from 2013 to 2016.

He had to take a few hits from the likes of The Big Show, among others, during his run.

Former WWE Manager Dutch Mantell Talks About Falling Into The “Do Not Touch” Category

In an episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the WWE veteran was asked by James Romero if he was in the “do not touch category”.

Mantell replied, saying that if he was, he didn’t know of it, or else he would’ve been a lot more hurt.

Do not touch. I didn’t know that till they told me. But they’d already put me in a match.

The big show hit me one time, and then I was in a tag match one time and I was in there with a Lana and Rusev one time and then I did get hurt.

But how did I get hurt? I forgot. I don’t think I don’t even I don’t know. I can’t remember. But they told me, uh, take your time off, you know, don’t worry about it. But see, I didn’t know that I was in a do-not-touch category.

Had I known that, [laughter]I would be a lot more hurt than I could ever imagined. I said, “Oh, God, I can’t, I can’t walk. (2:35 onwards)
