How Ex-WWE Champion Discovered His Wife Cheated On Him With Brock Lesnar
A former WWE Champion recently revisited a heartbreaking chapter in their life.
Marc Mero began his journey in WCW, where he won the World Television Championship multiple times.
While being married to Sable, he jumped ship to the Stamford promotion in 1996. One of his first acts involved rescuing his wife from Hunter Hearst Helmsley’s abuse, of whom she was a valet.
She soon became Mero’s valet and even feuded with him down the line. The couple quit WWE in 1999.
During a recent appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight, Marc Mero revealed that while Sable returned to the company in 2003, he had no desire to follow suit.
I had no desire to go back. I was kind of a stay at home dad with our daughter Mariah, and she went back on the road.
WWE Star Marc Mero’s Heartbreaking Details About Marriage Fallout With Sable
Sable has been married to WWE superstar Brock Lesnar since 2006. Marc Mero, meanwhile tied the knot with his partner, Marissa, in December 2025, his third marriage.
Speaking on the podcast, Mero revealed the details about how he learnt that Sable was cheating on him.
Every night she would call home to tuck in Mariah and say good night to both of us. It just seemed weird that the calls were becoming less and less, and Mariah wouldn’t get to talk to her mom.
Mero then claimed stumbling upon a voicemail left for Sable.
I pressed in the code to get into her phone and it said you have two unheard messages. I got to listen to this first message, which was a male’s voice talking about their night before and apologizing to her. It was just really heartbreaking, like she’s with somebody else.
The ex-WWE star said that he confronted Sable at an airport while playing her the voicemail.
I played it, and she just said, I want a divorce. That was it.
Mero also claimed that he only learnt about the other individual’s identity later.
She never would tell me who it was. It was a while.
Despite the heartbreaking experience, the 65-year-old says that he has moved on in life.
When they mention her name, I don’t get angry anymore. I wish them the best. They’ve got great kids, and my life couldn’t be better.
