Untold Story | Ex-WWE Star: “My Wife Introduced Me To Brock Lesnar… He Was Her Lover”
A former WWE star made a shocking discovery after he was introduced to Brock Lesnar backstage.
The Beast Incarnate made his main roster debut in 2002. The following year, Sable returned to the Stamford-based company after a four-year absence.
At the time, the former Women’s Champion was still married to ex-WWE star Marc Mero, who left the promotion in 1999. Nevertheless, she entered a romantic relationship with Brock Lesnar as they traveled together on the road.
Marc Mero Recalls His First Meeting With Brock Lesnar Backstage In WWE
In his autobiography, “Badd To Good: The Inspiring Story Of A Wrestling Wildman,” Marc Mero recalled visiting WWE when the company held a show in Daytona during the early days of Sable’s second run.
The former Intercontinental Champion disclosed that it was the first time he met Brock Lesnar after his then-wife, Sable, introduced him to The Beast Incarnate backstage. Mero pointed out that he and the former Universal Champion barely talked during their brief interaction.
Really early into Rena’s return run as Sable, WWE ran a show in Daytona. I drove to the arena with a bunch of my friends and we all went backstage. In some ways, it was good to be back seeing the boys again, but I didn’t feel like I belonged in that environment anymore. Rena introduced me to Brock Lesnar that night, this huge collegiate wrestling star and former NCAA Division 1 National Champion who had experienced a massive push with the company since he had arrived on the scene with Paul Heyman by his side.
Brock didn’t say much to me and I didn’t say much back. He just seemed like somebody who didn’t really want to talk a whole lot; I didn’t think anything of it until some time later when I would replay that interaction back in my head again and again and again. That night would end up being the last time that I ever attended a WWE show.
Mero later discovered that Sable was in a relationship with a co-worker. He added that it did not take long for him to find out that his wife’s lover was Lesnar.
It didn’t take long for me to find out that my wife’s lover was Brock Lesnar, the rising WWE star who I had briefly met backstage and who would later go on to become a UFC champion too. I never had it out with Brock: what was the point? Rena and I had been drifting apart for a while.
Sable and Mero later divorced. The former Women’s Champion then married The Beast Incarnate.
