WWE has seemingly reached out to a former controversial talent, whom they fired in 2018.

Enzo Amore was unceremoniously fired in January of that year after accusations of sexual assault were leveled against him by a female, while referring to an incident that occurred between them in October 2017.

Following his failure to inform the company about the investigation, he was let go. Amore conveyed through his lawyer that he had learnt about the investigation only after it was made public.

In May 2018, the Phoenix Police Department discontinued its investigation, citing insufficient evidence.

Enzo was also filmed creating a ruckus at the Survivor Series event in November, which he attended by purchasing a ticket, forcing the in-house security to escort him out of the arena.

Since then, he has performed in the independent circuit and other popular wrestling promotions, including Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and TNA.

WWE Contacted Enzo Amore During WrestleMania 42 Week

WrestleMania 42 was a mixed bag event for WWE for a variety of reasons. While issues kept taking center stage leading up to the event, another transaction was seemingly being carried out behind the scenes that was unknown to fans until now.

According to a report by Self Made Pro for Self Made Sessions, the Stamford promotion had been in contact with Enzo Amore during the WrestleMania 42 week.

What I can tell you guys is that on the week of WrestleMania, they were in contact with Enzo Amore.

He also claimed that the company had been looking into popular tag teams from around the world, which may have led it to reach out to Amore.

What I can tell you flat out and confirm is that Enzo was in contact with WWE the week of WrestleMania. And what I can tell you for a fact also is that they’re looking at a bunch of teams that they want to sign from different companies all around the world.

The report comes at a time when Fightful Select reported in April that Enzo’s former tag team partner, Big Bill’s contract with AEW might end in late May or early June.

Over the years, Enzo Amore has loosely stayed in touch with WWE, although he never pushed for a return, which he revealed during an interview on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast.

The Stamford promotion scouting tag teams could be because it released the likes of Motor City Machine Guns and The Wyatt Sicks after WrestleMania 42.

Enzo Amore and Big Bill were one of the hottest tag team prospects in the company between 2013 and 2017 on both NXT and the main roster.

While the report by Self Made Pro does not out-and-out hint at the return of Enzo Amore and Big Bill to WWE, they are a pair that the fans can get behind to pull the tag division out of the rut.
