Is Ex-AEW World Champion WWE’s Masked Man? Truth Revealed
According to the rumor mill, an ex-AEW World Champion is WWE’s masked man.
At the Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on January 31, the WWE Universe saw a masked, hooded figure attack Bron Breakker during the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
Breakker entered at No. 2, but before he could even get inside the ring, the mystery assailant blindsided him with a curb stomp. The masked man then tossed Breakker into the ring, and Oba Femi, the No. 1 entrant, easily threw Breakker out to eliminate him.
The masked man made his second appearance on the February 9 edition of Monday Night Raw during the Men’s WWE Elimination Chamber qualifying match. During the bout, he attacked Austin Theory and helped LA Knight qualify.
The identity of the masked man has become a major topic of discussion across social media platforms. According to a Facebook page named American Wrestling, the masked man behind the attacks on Bron Breakker at the Royal Rumble and Austin Theory on Raw is former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.
Ex-AEW World Champion Jon Moxley Is Not WWE’s Masked Man
However, veteran journalist Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful debunked the rumor, stating that Jon Moxley was not the man behind the mask. Jon Moxley, formerly known as WWE’s Dean Ambrose, joined AEW in 2019 and signed a five-year contract extension in 2022 that runs through 2027. Therefore, it is not possible that Jon Moxley is the masked man behind the attacks.
Another name that is floated around as the masked man is Seth Rollins, who was betrayed by The Vision last year, and Adam Pearce, who is currently involved in a rivalry with The Vision. According to some reports, Grayson Waller was also behind the masked figure, but it was revealed that WWE only used him to replace Seth Rollins because Rollins couldn’t make it to the Royal Rumble.
