Ex-AEW Champion’s In-Ring Return Confirmed For Dynamite After 206 Days
A 2-time former AEW International Champion’s return from injury has been confirmed.
After being on the shelf for 206 days, Will Ospreay will make his first appearance on Dynamite on Wednesday. Ospreay’s last match was at Forbidden Door in 2025, where he competed in a Lights Out Steel Cage match.
The Aerial Assassin had teamed up with Darby Allin, Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi), and Hiroshi Tanahashi to face the Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli & Jon Moxley), Gabe Kidd, and The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson).
Following his team’s victory, Ospreay celebrated with his home audience of London, England, during which he was ambushed by Moxley and Castagnoli.
His allies tried to get into the cage, but failed until the damage was done. The Death Riders duo wrapped a chair around Ospreay’s neck before Moxley stomped on it.
The hometown star was quickly stretchered out. It was later revealed that the attack was carried out as part of the storyline due to the 32-year-old needing neck surgery.
Will Ospreay To Face Blake Christian On AEW Dynamite
Following his surgery and rehabilitation, Will Ospreay returned to AEW at Revolution on Sunday.
He appeared after Jon Moxley’s successful Intercontinental Championship title defense against Konosuke Takeshita in a No Time Limit match.
Ospreay immediately went after Moxley and his Death Riders stablemates, Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta, before they left through the crowd.
Previously, AEW President Tony Khan had spoken about Ospreay’s recovery process. Recently, reports claimed that the 32-year-old had been working out in the ring ahead of live shows.
Khan took to X to make the announcement related to Ospreay, confirming his match on Dynamite on Wednesday.
