A major health and AEW return update has emerged for Will Ospreay.

An initial report by Fightful Select claimed that Ospreay had been seen backstage during Dynamite shows, awaiting clearance to make his impending in-ring return.

The 32-year-old last competed in the Lights Out Steel Cage match at last year’s AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view as part of the babyfaces team, going up against the Death Riders and their allies.

Following his team’s victory, the British sensation was sidelined before being viciously beaten down by Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli.

Several of his peers watched in agonizing astonishment as they looked for a way into the cage. They finally managed to get through, fending off the Death Riders, but the damage had already been done.

In front of his home crowd in London, England, Will Ospreay had to be stretchered out.

It was later revealed that the attack was carried out as part of the storyline because Ospreay was scheduled to undergo neck surgery.

Will Ospreay Inching Closer To AEW Return

Fightful has returned with a fresh update, which claims that Will Ospreay’s AEW return is closer.

The report further states that Ospreay has been working out in the ring ahead of live shows, and things have looked promising.

While no exact date for his return was acquired, the report revealed that a Spring return is possible for the Brit, and his getting factored into All In: London looks real.

AEW has meanwhile been airing vignettes featuring Ospreay, generating a buzz around his imminent return.

In January, Tony Khan had claimed that the former AEW International Champion was recovering well and would be back in 2026.
