An update has been given on the contract status of one of WWE’s biggest stars, Drew McIntyre.

Since April 2023 right around the time of WrestleMania 39, there have been reports about Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract status. At the time, it was reported that Drew McIntyre was upset with the creative process in WWE along with what he was being paid.

A lot has happened since WrestleMania 39 took place since McIntyre officially turned heel around Survivor Series when he teamed up with The Judgment Day in a losing effort.

Drew McIntyre has also been after the World Heavyweight Title held by Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Unfortunately for Drew, he lost two matches for the title.

Over the last two weeks on Raw, Drew has had promo confrontations with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, both of whom are considered Royal Rumble favorites. McIntyre is also in the Royal Rumble and wants to finish his story by winning the WWE Championship in front of fans, unlike in 2020 when he won that title in front of no fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Has Drew McIntyre Signed A New WWE Deal?

When it comes to McIntyre’s contract status, PWInsider Elite’s Mike Johnson reports that nothing has changed with McIntyre, who hasn’t signed a new deal with WWE. It was added that if a new deal isn’t signed, then McIntyre would be free and clear after WrestleMania 40. McIntyre’s deal was extended over the last year due to taking time off after WrestleMania 39.

That also means that there is still time to get a deal done since WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia is over two and a half months away. PWI Elite noted that since Endeavor acquired WWE officially last September, they are locking in new contracts in the order they were due to expire.

As for what’s next for Drew McIntyre, he’ll be in action on the January 22nd edition of Raw against Damian Priest in a matchup between two of Raw’s top heels.
