Drew McIntyre Addresses Major WWE WrestleMania Rumor: “I’ll Go To Management”
Drew McIntyre is against the rumored idea for his WWE Title match at WrestleMania 42.
In the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match at the appropriately named Elimination Chamber PLE, the winner of the match involving Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, LA Knight, and Logan Paul will face Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Title at WrestleMania 42.
Jey Uso originally qualified for the match, but he was the victim of a dreaded “mystery attack” on SmackDown in Louisville.
Due to Jey being attacked, Logan Paul faced Jacob Fatu in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match on SmackDown. Drew McIntyre got involved in the match by hitting Fatu with the WWE Title in the head because Drew has had past issues with Fatu, and clearly doesn’t want to wrestle him. Paul capitalized by rolling up Fatu to get the win and join the Elimination Chamber match.
Drew McIntyre Wants A Singles Match At WrestleMania
In an interview with the Babyfaces Podcast conducted before SmackDown took place, Drew McIntyre was asked about one of the WrestleMania rumors involving a possible triple threat or 4-way match at WrestleMania.
“I would probably go to management and say, ‘What was the point of the Elimination Chamber?’”
As he continued, McIntyre added more to his point that Elimination Chamber exists to determine one winner as a WrestleMania opponent, and not multiple opponents.
“The whole idea is whoever the best man is wins, then faces the champion at WrestleMania. So the best man — which is obviously not Cody — is going to win that Chamber and go fight me at WrestleMania.”
“If it was any different than that, I would wonder what the point of the Elimination Chamber was.”
You can watch WWE Elimination Chamber, streaming live on Saturday, February 28, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ESPN in the United States and Netflix everywhere else.
