Drew McIntyre made major changes due to Brock Lesnar
While speaking to The U.S. Sun, The Scottish Warrior looked back at 2017. He wasn’t at the top of the industry and needed guidance on how to go about it.
So, he looked at the man who was at the top of the roster, then Brock Lesnar. When he compared himself to Brock Lesnar, he knew he couldn’t beat The Beast Incarnate. So, he focused on making major changes to his personal life. Furthermore, he improved his mic skills after being motivated by watching Paul Heyman.
I really didn’t know what was going on during that time, but one, I had to cut out the partying all the time, and two, I had to look at myself and go, ‘OK, what do I need to better to be on top of this industry? Who’s the top attraction right now?
It was Brock Lesnar at the top at the time. I was like oh, if I step in front of him, I don’t believe I can beat him up. I gotta work on the physique… And there was other areas. Like I saw [Paul] Heyman beside him and knew I’ve gotta work on the microphone, but when it came to the physical aspect, I was like, OK, what have I gotta do?
