Following his unfortunate release from the WWE, a negative update has been provided regarding the former NXT Champion, Aleister Black.

More than 20 wrestlers were let go from the WWE last week, as they were part of the mass releases from the company just days after WrestleMania 42. Some popular names, such as Kairi Sane, Zoey Stark, Zelina Vega, Apollo Crews, the Wyatt Sicks, and more, have been released from the Stamford-based promotion. However, many fans are more shocked by the release of Aleister Black, as he was picking up some wins lately, and also defeated Randy Orton a few weeks back.

This is the second time Aleister has been let go from the Stamford-based promotion, as his previous release was back in 2021. He had a four-year run with All Elite Wrestling as ‘Malakai Black,’ until his departure and eventual WWE return last year. Meanwhile, many fans have been speculating whether Black will be heading back to Tony Khan’s promotion after his second release from the Sports Entertainment Juggernaut.

Unfortunate update regarding Aleister Black’s potential AEW return following WWE release

While fans on the internet are speculating that Malakai Black will be seen back in AEW after his WWE departure, Dave Meltzer provided a disheartening update. Speaking on the recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer noted that the idea of Aleister Black’s return to AEW is not fondly thought of by the people in the company he spoke with. Dave also admitted that he didn’t speak with Tony Khan about the same:

The idea of Aleister Black and AEW was not fondly thought out by the people I spoke with there [in AEW]. Now, I did not speak to Tony Khan”

Meltzer further revealed that there were mixed reactions regarding Andrade El Idolo before he returned to AEW months ago. However, reactions regarding Aleister Black’s potential All Elite return are pretty negative, according to Meltzer:

Andrade was mixed. I know people there that were not high on Andrade at all and others who were. Black, from what I gathered, pretty negative. There were even people who publicly said that. That they were negative on Black.”

Fans will have to wait and see whether Aleister Black will eventually be back to All Elite Wrestling following his WWE release and whether he will be joined by his wife, Zelina Vega, there as well.
