DarkState Explains Their Actions After Shocking NXT Betrayal Last Week

WWE NXT went off the air last week after a brutal betrayal shocked the entire fanbase, after The Vanity Project retained their NXT Tag Team Championships in the main event of the show.

The duo of Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor defended their tag team titles against the team they won them from, DarkState. However, instead of the group’s regular tag teams, it was Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox who challenged them.

Shugars and Lennox had been butting heads for the last few weeks, which led to Osiris Griffn and Cutler James making this decision for the group. They stated that if the duo failed to win the belts, then things needed to change in the group.

DarkState made some bold claims on WWE NXT tonight

Shugars and Lennox fell short in the title match, following which James and Griffin attacked Saquon, and Lennox joined the beatdown. They took him out with a powerbomb to the announce table and kicked him out of the group.

The three of them took to the ring tonight to explain their actions, where Griffin said that he was never at their level. James stated that Saquon became a liability for them as he made decisions hastily.

Dion Lennox agreed with his partners, stating that Shugars was trying to paint him as the bad guy and turn his partners against him. After confirming that Shugars was kicked off for being the weak link, the trio then put the entire locker room on notice, claiming that DarkState is back.
