The wait is nearly over for fans of Cody Rhodes as his return to the ring was finally announced on WWE Raw and it could mean huge things for Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes was the talk of the wrestling world in the first half of 2022. The American Nightmare and his wife Brandi Rhodes announced their departure from AEW in February. At WrestleMania 38, the worst kept secret in wrestling was revealed to be true as Rhodes re-debuted in WWE as the surprise opponent for Seth Rollins.
That began a three-month feud with Rhodes and Rollins that culminated in an epic Hell In A Cell match in June. Cody Rhodes suffered a torn pectoral muscle in the days before that bout but still competed, receiving an audible gasp from the crowd when he revealed his badly bruised chest and arm before the bell rang.
On the 16th of January edition of Raw, the latest vignette aired as Cody Rhodes was seen rehabbing and training at his Nightmare Factory for his comeback. At the end of the video, Rhodes revealed that he will be back in a WWE ring on January 28th as part of the men’s Royal Rumble match.
Rhodes will go on to that match as one of the favourites to win and secure a title match at WrestleMania 39, but as always he’ll have 29 other WWE Superstars vying for that crown.
