Cody Rhodes Vows To Teach Former Ally A Lesson On WWE SmackDown

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes has had his hands full on WWE SmackDown ever since The Ring General, Gunther, moved to the blue brand, courtesy of Paul Heyman.

Gunther has been after Cody and his Undisputed WWE Championship, and the two men are set to face each other at Clash In Italy this Sunday in Turin. However, before their huge clash, they’ve been at each other’s throats throughout.

Last week on the blue brand, Sami Zayn was badmouthing Cody Rhodes, which led to a match between the two, and The Ring General made his presence known in that match as well.

Zayn and Rhodes have been at odds with one another for several weeks, and tensions came to a head on WWE SmackDown last week. As Gunther interfered in the match, it distracted both Sami and Cody, which allowed Rhodes to pick up the win.

Following the match, Gunther grabbed Cody in a Sleeper Hold and choked him out in the ring while Sami looked on, before walking away without helping. The American Nightmare confronted him for the same tonight and called him out for not helping.

Sami responded by telling Rhodes that he wanted to teach him a lesson, following which Cody delivered a stern message to Sami. He vowed to teach his former friend a lesson of his own once he’s done with the Ring General.
