Cody Rhodes And Roman Reigns To Star In New Movie
Two of WWE’s biggest names are set to collide not in the ring this time, but on the big screen.
After creating magic in one of WWE’s most emotionally charged storylines, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are going to Hollywood together to star in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Street Fighter.
According to a report from Deadline, Rhodes and Reigns have officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated Street Fighter movie, which is being co-developed by Legendary Entertainment, Sony Pictures, and Capcom. This marks the first live-action adaptation of the iconic fighting game franchise since the cult classic released in 1994.
WWE’s Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns To Step Into Legendary Roles Outside WWE
Roman Reigns has been cast as Akuma, the terrifying martial artist with demonic powers and a deadly reputation. Known for his dominant presence in WWE as the former Tribal Chief, Reigns seems like a natural fit for the role of a fearsome, unstoppable force.
Meanwhile, the current King of the Ring, Cody Rhodes, will portray Guile, the no-nonsense American military hero known for his iconic flat-top haircut and sonic boom attacks. The casting plays right into Rhodes’ clean-cut, patriotic persona and could mark a significant moment in his crossover into mainstream entertainment.

The movie is being directed by Kitao Sakurai, who took over the project after Danny and Michael Philippou exited in 2024. The cast already includes big names like Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Jason Momoa as Blanka, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, 50 Cent as Balrog, Orville Peck as Vega, and Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki.
Scheduled for a 2026 release, the film promises a modern take on the beloved Capcom franchise with a powerful mix of action, nostalgia, and fresh energy.
