Finish Of Cody Rhodes Vs. Randy Orton WWE WrestleMania Match Predicted

Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

The Viper won this year’s Elimination Chamber to challenge The American Nightmare for the title at the Showcase of Immortals.

Following his Elimination Chamber win, Orton turned heel on Cody Rhodes. The turn took place on the March 13, 2026, episode of Friday Night SmackDown during their contract signing segment, which saw Orton brutally attack Rhodes.

Another key development in their storyline took place on the April 3 edition of SmackDown in Orton’s hometown, St. Louis. As Rhodes and Orton brawled inside the ring during the opening segment, Pat McAfee made a surprise return and attacked Rhodes with a low blow.

While Orton continued his attack, McAfee took the mic and revealed that he was the mystery voice Orton had been speaking to on the phone over the previous weeks. He stated that he was the voice inside Orton’s head, guiding him to win his 15th world championship at WrestleMania 42.

McAfee also criticized the current WWE product, saying it had declined under Rhodes and that Orton is the one who can take WWE into a brighter future. Rhodes later retaliated with a shoot-style promo, taking shots at McAfee and his representative, TKO CEO Ari Emanuel, who reportedly played a role in bringing McAfee into the storyline.

Bully Ray Predicts Randy Orton to Defeat Cody Rhodes with Help from Pat McAfee

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray recently discussed the upcoming Mania match on the Busted Open podcast and predicted the outcome. He said the closing moments could see McAfee attempt to interfere, only for Rhodes to take him out with a low blow.

Bully added that the distraction could allow Orton to hit an RKO, pick up the win, and become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.

Bully said “The loudest reaction I think that Cody and Randy will be able to get in their match that is not the finish is Cody kicking Pat McAfee in the b*lls. You have your match, all the sh*t goes down, all the wonkiness, the run-ins, the this, the that, the false finishes, blah blah blah. The people are at their peak.”

“Pat McAfee is standing in the ring dead to rights with Cody Rhodes. Cody Rhodes hauls off and kicks Pat McAfee in the n*ts. Pat McAfee’s n*ts come flying out of his mouth. And as the people are going crazy, out of nowhere, RKO, 1-2-3. And there’s your finish,” he said.

The match between Rhodes and Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship will take place on Night One of WrestleMania 42. The second night of The Showcase of Immortals will be headlined by CM Punk and Roman Reigns, who will take on each other for Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship.
