Cody Rhodes Teases Major Project Outside Of WWE

Cody Rhodes lives a busy life outside of wrestling as well.

The current Undisputed WWE Champion is scheduled to defend his title against Randy Orton at the WrestleMania 42 main event. The two superstars have been involved in an intense feud since Orton turned heel and attacked Rhodes a few weeks ago.

After missing a week of action to nurse his injuries, The American Nightmare returned on the March 27 taping of SmackDown.

The 40-year-old confronted The Viper as both wrestlers started throwing hands. The fight was constantly interrupted by one member or the other of the security staff trying to break them up.

In the closing minutes, Grammy Award winner Jelly Roll, who is friends with both men, came out to help defuse the situation. However, he ended up becoming collateral after eating an RKO from Orton.

Cody Rhodes Teases Next Hollywood Project

Cody Rhodes was last seen in a cameo role in The Naked Gun, starring Liam Neeson.

In recent times, Rhodes has ventured into Hollywood to pursue acting roles that might offer him temporary respite from WWE and allow him to pursue other interests.

He will be next seen in the Street Fighter movie, scheduled to be released on October 16. The film will also feature Roman Reigns and NJPW star Hirooki Goto.

During a recent interview with Adam Glyn, he hinted at briefly stepping away from the squared circle for a new project.

Yeah, it’s been really fun. We talked about it as a juggling act the other day in the sense of, what’s the next big get and a good story to tell that’s not in the ring. It’s got to be a story that’s worth stepping away from the ring to tell. There’s definitely something on the docket, I’d wait until we get a little bit closer to WrestleMania and then hopefully that’ll be something that is news for everybody. [H/T: Fightful]
