Cody Rhodes Opens Up About Backstage Politics In WWE
Cody Rhodes had grown up in the business, and he has learnt the in-ring craft and the off-TV WWE politics.
Every company has its own backstage issues, and WWE is no different. With superstars from across the globe working with the global juggernaut, one can imagine that conversations aren’t always the smoothest.
However, the current era’s superstars may have figured out a way to keep the politics away.
Cody Rhodes on where WWE backstage politics stand
During an episode of the What Do You Want To Talk About? With Cody Rhodes, The American Nightmare opened up about the locker room situation. He revealed that right now, peers are much more straightforward and voice their opinions about a storyline, rather than creating a manipulative environment. However, seasoned wrestlers also know when someone is not being genuine with their opinion.
One of the great things about you as a peer in the locker room is that you’re straight up. I think a lot of guys in our locker room are straight up. They’ll say, ‘This is what I think is better, this is what I think isn’t. Let’s talk about it.’ Then someone makes the final decision, but at least the opinions have been weighed.
Because you can smell it when you get around the ones who say, ‘This is going to be really good for you,’ and you can tell — no, it’s not. I can tell it’s not even really for me. [H/t: Ringside News]
Currently, Cody Rhodes is booked for an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Drew McIntyre for Friday Night SmackDown.
