CM Punk Takes Dig At Roman Reigns Ahead Of WWE WrestleMania Clash
CM Punk will put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
The Tribal Chief won this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match, earning a World Title shot, and chose The Second City Saint as his WrestleMania opponent.
Ahead of their highly anticipated clash, Punk appeared on No Contest Wrestling with TJ Henderson and O’Shay Jackson Jr., where he discussed his 10-year hiatus from wrestling and whether he had any regrets about missing that time in WWE.
Punk said that while he feels he “could have done more” with John Cena and AJ Styles during those years, he also believes he did pretty well overall.
“Do I ever think like, ‘I missed ten years. I could have worked with AJ a bunch. I could have done more with Cena.’ I think I did pretty good.”
CM Punk Mocks Roman Reigns
Continuing his comments, CM Punk took a shot at his WrestleMania opponent, stating that during the 10 years he was away, it took Roman Reigns that long to become the superstar he is today.
“The Tribal Chief says he graciously scaled back for two years. I graciously stepped back for ten, and it took him that long to become the superstar that he is. I have no regrets,” he said.
Earlier this year, ahead of the Royal Rumble, Reigns had appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, where he claimed that WWE failed to advance or evolve in his absence after he went away for two years following his loss of the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40.
On this week’s Monday Night Raw episode, Reigns cut a promo saying he chose Punk as his WrestleMania opponent because he hates him. But Punk has said that he doesn’t hate Reigns.
