Female WWE Icon Makes An Appeal To Fans Following Real-Life CM Punk Controversy
CM Punk was recently involved in a major controversy.
CM Punk is one of the biggest stars in the world of professional wrestling. The Second City Saint isn’t afraid to voice his opinion, and this doesn’t sit right with everybody. Punk has been pretty vocal about fans following him to his hotel.
Around WrestleMania weekend, a fan was taking a video on his phone when Bayley and AJ Lee met each other in a hotel lobby. CM Punk was clearly not happy, and he slapped the phone out of the fan’s hand. The Straight Edge Superstar was involved in another incident with a family. A video went viral on social media after a mother claimed that she and her sons wanted to meet Punk in a hotel lobby. However, Punk just blew past them. Following this incident, Punk posted on Instagram in a now-deleted post asking fans not to follow him to his hotel. This has been the talk of the wrestling community as of late, with fans being divided on the situation. However, Missy Hyatt is clear which side she supports.
Missy Hyatt shows her support for CM Punk after real-life controversy
Missy Hyatt recently took to social media to say that wrestlers don’t work 24/7. Therefore, it is not okay for fans to track them to their hotels. She said that different rules apply to kids as long as they are respectful.
“I saw the video of the mom taking her 2 kids to a hotel to meet cm punk and was miffed he blew them off. Every person in any career-not counting some 1st responders have “store hours”. Purposely tracking wrestlers to their hotel or airport arrivals is wrong. If the person doesnt look like they are in the mood on their off hours, maybe you should take a hint. Different rules usually apply to kids, as long as they are respectful. I think store hours start when you arrive to the building. When leaving the building is optional. Since talent could be exhausted, starving, in a rush to get a flight, etc Nobody would want somebody tracking you down to your hotel-univited.”
She further added that meeting a wrestler in the hotel lobby is fine as long as the star is being social. She made it clear that certain wrestlers don’t like to be disturbed outside their workplace. She made it clear that the parent is to blame for such incidents. Missy also said that using a camera to strongarm an interaction is wrong.
“If wrestlers are being social in the lobby and you are respectful, its fine. Chance meeting is up to discretion, since some people dont want to be disturbed eating. A current wwe or aew wrestler is not available for 24/7 meet and greet. I put the blame at times on the parent or especially the ones that have merch with them to be signed. Im far from relevant. At the same time, i dont ask people to mail me trading cards without asking me 1st to sign & mail them back. Most wrestlers are gracious, i know i am. I was and still a fan. At the same time, putting a camera video to strong arm an interraction is wrong & then to use the video to bash the talent is even worst if they dont comply.”
