CM Punk Gives WWE Fans Hope With Injury Update

CM Punk

CM Punk appeared in front of the live crowd in Cincinnati after WWE SmackDown and addressed his injury and when he hopes to be back in the ring.

CM Punk suffered a torn triceps in the 2024 men’s Royal Rumble after taking a Future Shock DDT from Drew McIntyre. The match was Punk’s first televised bout following his shock return to WWE and it took him out of the picture for a spot on the WrestleMania card.

Punk, however, did have a say at WrestleMania after Drew McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins to win the World Heavyweight Championship. As McIntyre gloated in front of CM Punk, who had been on commentary for the match, Punk swept his leg and then nailed McIntyre in the head with his arm brace.

That allowed Damian Priest to pounce with his Money In The Bank contract and Priest quickly defeated McIntyre to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

CM Punk Is On Track With Recovery

SmackDown in Cincinnati saw the first night of the 2024 WWE Draft take place. Roman Reigns pulled out of the draft pool at the beginning of the show as the split in The Bloodline continued to be teased.

After SmackDown went off the air, Punk appeared in front of the live fans and vowed to be back in action “soon”:

I want to give a little update – my tricep[s] is not a hundred per cent, yet. But I am on track and I promise, soon, I will be back and competing with all the tough badasses backstage.

CM Punk was interrupted by Alpha Academy led by Chad Gable who has shown a whole new attitude since turning on Sami Zayn recently. The Academy was collectively drafted by Raw on the night with the new WWE rosters locked in from May 6th.
