Why Ex-DX Member And Close Friend Of Triple H Parted Ways With WWE
A former member of D-Generation X and a close friend of Triple H, Road Dogg, is no longer with WWE.
The WWE legend reportedly quit the company on March 5, 2026. At the time of his departure, he was serving as the co-lead writer for Friday Night SmackDown. According to reports, his departure came after an annual performance review that reportedly left him unhappy.
Sources claim that Road Dogg had been dissatisfied with his diminishing role in WWE’s creative team for some time. The situation reportedly escalated further when the Stamford-based company rescinded approval for him to appear at an outside wrestling convention later in March.
Road Dogg May Have Felt “Disrespected” By WWE, Says Jim Cornette
Veteran Jim Cornette recently commented on the matter on The Jim Cornette Experience podcast. Cornette stated that Road Dogg decided to walk away from the Stamford-based company because he had become “fed up” with the company.
Cornette also pointed out that Road Dogg’s portrayal in WWE Unreal episodes might have made him feel “disrespected” and “disgruntled,” which could have been another factor that influenced his decision to part ways with the company.
Sometimes when people say, ‘I’m going home,’ they’re hard to argue with right at that point. And there’s also the potential that they didn’t might not want it to, but there’s also the potential that he (was) just fed up enough of whatever the f*ck.
I mean, Road Dog has obviously lasted a lot longer, but at some point he may have felt disrespected by something they said, or on the Unreal episodes, he did sometimes look a little disgruntled like, ‘Well, f*ck.’
