What’s really going on with Royce Keys in WWE?

Royce Keys officially arrived in WWE at the Royal Rumble when he debuted in the men’s Rumble match. Previously, the star had been known as Powerhouse Hobbs in AEW, and in his final match in that company, he lost the AEW Trios Title to JetSet Rodeo – Hangman Adam Page, Speedball Mike Bailey, and Kevin Knight.

Since his debut, Keys has competed in dark matches at successive SmackDown tapings, defeating the likes of Nathan Frazer, Chris Sabin, and Alex Shelley. But with such a strong debut behind him, fans are asking why the star hasn’t been appearing on television.

And it seems that might not be changing anytime soon, heading into WrestleMania 42.

No Update On Royce Keys In WWE

During a Q&A session, WrestleVotes noted that there was no update on current creative plans for Royce Keys in WWE:

Creative plans for Royce Keys? Nothing — absolutely nothing. SmackDown was going to be the place for him, and I know he was backstage last Friday night. There’s no clue when he’s showing up on TV.

However, many outlets took that to mean that WWE has no creative plans at all for Keys, but that’s not the case.

Fightful Select has clarified the situation in a new report. It was stated that there have been things filmed for Royce Keys in WWE, but no more context or a date for his next TV appearance was given. WWE is heavily promoting Keys’ appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast.
